Learn to code in Java, and get the skills to program a robot!

For Grades 6 through 12

(Must have completed Math 6)

Starting November 3rd, for full year! (Nov 3 – Apr 13) On Saturday mornings from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (after our regular Saturday School program)  

This program is open to any student in Grades 6 -12 who has completed Math 6.

$85.00, or $40.00 for families eligible for FARMS (Free And Reduced Meals)

Fee covers the Java Programming class for entire school year. Registration ends November 1st.

The Java Programming and Robotics class is only offered at our Saturday School location at  Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring.

A Full-Year Program To Develop Strong Skills!

“Java Programming with Robotics Application” – offered by Saturday School – will focus on learning to code in the Java programming language. The learning process will be combined with applying coding skills to program a robot.

This special class is offered at no cost to students already enrolled in Saturday School, and is open to students in Grade 6 through Grade 12.  The only pre-requisite is having completed the Math 6 curriculum of Montgomery County Public Schools/MCPS.

WHEN AND WHERE:  Offered only at the Saturday School location at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring. The 2-hour class will take place each day that Saturday School is in session, and it will begin after the regular program – from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Must register by Nov. 1, 2018.  Class runs Nov. 3, 2018 – Apr. 13, 2019.

INSTRUCTORS:  This class will be taught by members of The Blair Robot Project, a successful MCPS high school team that has participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition events since 2000. For more information about the class, please email gbtjavaclass@gmail.com.
